Author/illustrator Christopher Arelt is owner and principal of Nautilus Architects. A graduate of Yale and Duke Universities, he lives with his wife Barbara and their cocker spaniel Luigi in Deep River, Connecticut. This photo shows a younger version with the winning catch from the Mill Pond Fishing Club's Opening Day Contest in Stony Brook, Long Island, circa 1976.

Author Sebastian O'Kelly lives in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife Elizabeth and children Sheridan and Dermot. He is a former Senate aide and Department of Commerce official who currently works as a lobbyist. The shad he is holding in the back cover photo was caught three miles from the White House.
